7.30pm. The Gregson. Lancaster. £8.00 A dramatisation of the
historic meeting in Copenhagen in 1941 between two physicists –
one German, one Danish. The two men were old friends and colleagues
who found themselves on opposite sides in a world war and embroiled
in the race to create the atomic bomb. Why did they meet?A play
about friendship and moral responsibility, takeing us on a journey
through the dilemma that beset such men in today’s world.
‘Copenhagen’ received the Evening Standard Award for
best play of 1998 and also won the Tony Award in the USA in 2000.

'On the Verge'. 7.30pm, Gregson, Moor Lane. 'On
the Verge' documentary tells the story of one of the most persistent
and imaginative campaigns to emerge out of the UK's anti-war movement
and direct action scene. It follows a group of Brighton activists
in their campaign to shut down weapons manufacturer EDO-MBM, who
make parts for weapons used against Palstinians and Iraqis. Followed

Society, well known for their Gilbert and Sullivan productions,
are venturing into the world of opera, with this production of Strauss’
light-hearted opera, Die Fledermaus. Strauss’ famous score
together with a company of well-known local artistes and singers
